Catherine Knight’s solo show ‘Long Shadows’ is a collection of work inspired by the artist’s visit in February 2022 to Oslo and Åsgårdstrand, a small town on the Oslo Fjord, which was a source of inspiration for the artist Edvard Munch, and where he painted many of his famous works in the 1890s and early 1900s, including Melancholy, Girls on a Bridge, and The Voice. Some of Catherine’s ‘Long Shadows’ paintings are being exhibited at Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery (7th March to 3rd June), and a different curation of the same project will be shown at Irving Contemporary’s Oxford gallery in the summer (10th June to 15th July). All works from both exhibitions are available to purchase exclusively through Irving Contemporary.
